In accordance with the Value-Added Tax Act of 1991, as SafariNow is a VAT-registered company, we are legally obliged to charge VAT on the referral fee that we charge on each booking made with us, as this is considered to be the service that we sell and this service is VAT taxable.

Whether or not a service is subject to VAT is determined by the VAT status of the seller (in this case, Safarinow.com (Pty) Ltd), not the VAT status of the customer (in this case, the establishment owner).

If you as the customer are registered for VAT, you are eligible to claim a VAT input on VAT amounts you have been charged by Safarinow.

For further information regarding VAT, please visit the VAT page on the SARS website.
